Independence for People with Disability Matters: Choose Level Up Disability Care
08 March 2023Not everyone is familiar with the term “independence,” particularly when it comes to the NDIS and disability support services. Working in the disability industry at this time is rewarding. There are many transformational changes taking place, and they have an impact on how we will provide our services.
Although Level Up Disability Care is laying the groundwork for this transition, there are still challenges to overcome. Independence has always been a core component of our business strategy for our clients and our organisation. Let’s examine what this looks like and how we’re trying to improve things.
How Do We Define Independence?
When we refer to our participants’ independence, what we truly mean is how we can assist them in making better decisions regarding their needs. We support our participants in pursuing the objectives outlined in their NDIS plan by providing impartial, independent support coordination.
As a farm-based respite care registered NDIS provider in Gordon, Victoria, we pledge to serve our participants by providing them with excellent support that considers their right to privacy, respect for others, and dignity. Each participant will be given the same unlimited freedom of choice as everyone else in the community.
We Put Emphasis on Capacity Building
Independence is just one part of what we offer, and we’re always looking for ways to put our participants in the driver’s seat. However, since disability is a broad category and people’s demands change over time, this will appear different from one person to another. Given that we have a team of people that are extremely skilled and passionate about what they do, we place a significant emphasis on capacity building because we believe that every small step matters.
We Encourage Freedom of Choice
As a farm-based respite care registered NDIS provider, we offer various fun and exciting activities, like feeding and caring for animals, egg hunting, gardening activities, animal grooming, etc. Our Gordon farm activities include excursions to Daylesford and its famous chocolate Mill, Sovereign Hill and the Gold Museum, and strawberry picking at Bacchus Marsh. All our guests and participants have the freedom to choose whatever activities they want to participate in to ensure that their stay is as enjoyable and worthwhile as possible.
We Always Put Our Participant’s Needs First
With more than 15 years of experience in the disability sector, we know firsthand how crucial it is to prioritise the needs of the participants consistently. Our years of experience have given us a wealth of expertise in the sector and enabled us to find the appropriate services for each participant. We thoroughly understand that every person with a disability has unique needs, enabling us to serve them correctly.
In Level Up Disability Care, participants are not judged for who they are, what they have done, or their struggles. The potential benefits of spending time with farm animals in nature span a wide range of areas, including well-being, social connectivity, skill development, confidence, capacity, physical health, and vitality.
